About Us

There’s a reason this website exists, and it’s not complicated.

A few years ago, someone close to our team — a daily wage construction worker from a small district in Uttar Pradesh — lost access to his Shramik Card benefits simply because he didn’t know his card had expired. He had worked for years on construction sites, contributed to the system, and qualified for schemes that could have helped his daughter’s education. But the process was confusing, the official portal wasn’t easy to understand, and there was nobody nearby who could explain it in plain language.

That frustration became the reason we built upbocww.com.

What This Website Is

We are an independent informational website. We have no connection to the Uttar Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (UPBOCW), the state government, or any government department. We are not affiliated with upbocw.in in any official capacity.

What we are is a small team of people who saw a real problem — millions of registered and unregistered construction workers in UP who struggle to navigate a digital system that was built for administrators, not for the workers themselves — and decided to write about it clearly.

Every article, guide, and step-by-step tutorial on this site is written with one type of reader in mind: someone who has limited time, limited internet experience, and a genuine need to get something done — whether that’s checking their registration status, downloading their Labour Certificate, applying for a scheme, or understanding why their application is still showing “Pending.”

What We Actually Do Here

We track changes on the official upbocw.in portal constantly. When a new beneficiary list is released, when scheme amounts are revised, when the Atal Residential School admission dates are announced — we update our guides as quickly as possible so that the information you’re reading isn’t outdated.

We explain processes in Hindi and English both, because this is the reality of who uses this portal.

We include real screenshots from the official portal inside our guides, not because it looks good, but because a worker who has never filed online before needs to see exactly what button to click and what field to fill in.

We write about common rejection reasons — the Aadhaar-bank name mismatch, the blurry document uploads, the OTP failures — because we’ve seen these problems mentioned repeatedly and nobody was explaining how to fix them.

What We Are Not

We are not a government helpdesk. We cannot access your personal data, check your account, or intervene with your application on your behalf.

We do not charge money for any information on this site. Everything here is free. If anyone contacts you claiming to represent this website and asking for payment, that is a scam — please report it.

We do not process registrations, renewals, or applications. Those actions happen only on the official portals: upbocw.in and uplmis.in. Our job is to explain how to use those portals correctly, so you don’t need a middleman.

Why This Matters to Us

India has one of the largest informal labor workforces in the world. Construction workers, specifically, often fall through the cracks of welfare systems not because the government schemes don’t exist — many of them are genuinely good — but because the gap between a scheme being announced and a worker actually receiving the benefit is filled with confusion, paperwork, and missed steps.

We don’t think that gap should exist. And while we can’t fix government systems, we can write clearly about how to use them.

That’s the entire purpose of this site.

A Note on Accuracy

We do our best to keep every piece of information on upbocww.com accurate and up to date. However, government portals change. Scheme amounts are revised. Deadlines shift. Because of this, we always recommend verifying final details — especially fee amounts, application deadlines, and eligibility criteria — directly on the official UPBOCW portal before submitting anything.

If you ever find something on our site that seems incorrect or outdated, please reach out through our Contact page. We take that seriously and will look into it.

Get in Touch

We’re a small operation. We don’t have a call center or a support team. But we do read our messages, and if you’ve spotted an error, have a question about a guide, or want to share feedback, we’d genuinely like to hear from you.

You can reach us through the Contact Us page.

Thank you for being here. We hope something on this site made the process a little easier for you or someone in your family.
